Beyond the Bump is coming to Douglas Park! Located at 801 W 22nd Ave, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1Z8, this beautiful park is centrally located in Vancouver with plenty of free parking and excellent access to public transportation, making it a breeze for everyone to join.

  • Location: Douglas Park, 801 W 22nd Ave, Vancouver
  • Time: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
  • Day: Every Wednesday starting July 3rd till September
  • Cost: Free
  • What to Bring: Your baby (of course), and we recommend a blanket for sitting
  • Weather Policy: Meetups will only happen on sunny, fair-weather days. If it rains, the meetup will be canceled. Stay updated through our newsletter or social media channels.

Do I need to register or pay for this resource?

No, this is a free meetup! We highly suggest you join our newsletter so you can stay informed about upcoming topics and any changes.

What happens if it's bad weather?

The meetup will only happen on sunny, fair-weather days. If it rains, it will be canceled. Join our newsletter to get notified if a session is canceled or check our social media channels.

What age range is this for?

This meetup is for babies aged 0-18 months. Siblings are welcome to join as well!

Is this a parent-participation event?

Yes. All sessions will require parents to stay with your babies for the duration of the meetup. We ask that there be a minimum 1 adult per 2 babies ratio.

What should I bring to the meetup?

Please bring your baby, a blanket to sit on, and any essentials you might need for your baby during the meetup.

Can I attend if I am a caregiver, not a parent?

Yes, caregivers are welcome to join the meetup. We aim to support anyone involved in the care and development of babies.

We do ask that there be minimum 1 adult for 2 babies in attendance.

Are there washrooms at the meetup?

Washroom facilities are located inside Douglas Community Center.

Are the topics discussed based on any philosophy?

The topics discussed are based on research-backed, evidence-based information. We aim to curate and share advice and guidance that is both scientifically sound and practical for everyday parenting. Our approach is culturally safe and respectful, acknowledging and valuing the diverse backgrounds and parenting styles of all participants.

Is the material in the session considered medical advice?

No it is not. Information provided can not be taken as medical advice. Please see a health care professional or family doctor to seek for medical advice for yourself or anyone in your family.

Imperfect Parent, our parent education company, is organizing these meetups to support families with children aged 0-18 months. Imperfect Parent is a parent education resource that supports families with young children thrive beyond the early years.
